About Michael : My father, Michael Jakubiec was born and raised in Detroit Michigan, we grew up in Westland, loved sports and pizza. Dad was always a very well dressed and kind man of good taste and class. Loved hotrods and blues music and never shyed away from cranking up the stereo for good classic rock music. He is a Vietnam Vet, a True Hero, He has metals and even a purple heart for his service. He was a very kind and loving father, everyone loved him, I have no idea how the VFW is even surviving without him, he was a great example to everyone around him. He died at only 69 years old from arterial complications at the VA. He's missed and loved by everyone !! more... less...

Michael 's Memories

I will never forget all them trips to Bablo Island. Some of my favorite memories are getting up at 12:00 and 1:00 in the morning and going to work with my dad at the Free press stuffing the racks full of papers and setting up all the local carriers for their routes.. I love going to dunkin' donuts in the morning harassing all the cops. We always used to get coffee together with a lot of cream and a little sugar..lol the first time I ever was in a car and ran through a red light was with my dad early mornings delivering papers down Michigan avenue.. I thought it was the coolest thing ever hanging out with my dad blowing through red lights. Lol
