About Marie: Marie was born on April 23, 1939, to Charles and Helen (nee Gursky) Merkosky at Humboldt, SK. She grew on the farm near Burr, SK, with her 10 siblings. Marie obtained her education at Mile End School, located west of the Burr area. She was employed at Bruser's General Store until her marriage to Benno on June 30, 1958. She moved to Muenster and was blessed with six children: Adele, Colin, Donna, Elaine, Bruce and Roger. Marie enjoyed her time being a stay-at-home mom raising her children. She taught them to have faith and showed her enduring love for them daily. She liked watching her children play sports and enthusiastically cheered them on at curling, baseball, softball, or whatever the sport may be. Once the children were grown up, she spent a lot of time camping with Benno and visiting with family and friends. She enjoyed playing bingo and going for coffee in Humboldt whenever the chance arose.
