Obituary or Eulogy: David J. Watson Jr., aged 56 years young, beloved son, father, grandfather, fiance’ and brother, passed unexpectedly but peacefully in his home on Thanksgiving, November 23, 2023. David was born in Piscataway, NJ, on November 9,1967 to David J. Watson Sr. and Barbara Watson. He was raised in Piscataway and moved to Coxsackie, NY as a teenager. David was a talented chef and after attending culinary school in Schenectady, he worked at the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at Walt Disney World Orlando. David changed career paths and graduated from Hudson Valley Community College with a degree in Electrical Construction and Maintenance. He was an electrical technician at LaCorte from 1994 to 2008, and a foreman at National Grid from 2008 onward. Although David still had a love for food and beverage, so in the early 2000s you might have found him bartending at the Quarry Steakhouse on the weekends. David was an incredibly hard worker, but he was also the life of the party. He loved to dance, and could even belt some karaoke for 'Sweet Caroline'. His favorite artist was David Bowie. Some of David's favorite hobbies were golfing, fishing, grilling, and boating. He loved the Hudson River, and many family and friends will have fond memories of boating and camping with him there. David also loved traveling, from weekends in Lake George, to international cruises and historic trips, including Normandy Beach. David is survived by his fiancee’ Lisa del Rio, daughter and son-in-law Alison and Elan Watson-Santana, daughter Lindsay Watson, step-daughter Alexis Seaburg, granddaughter Aurora Watson-Santana, sister and brother-in-law Michele and Allen Anderson, nephews Daniel and Nicholas Naumenko. He is also survived by his mother and father David J. and Barbara Watson, Sr. David was preceded in death by his basset hound, Homer, whom he loved so much. Friends and loved ones are invited to a Celebration of Life for David at the W.C. Brady's Sons, Inc. Funeral Home, 97 Mansion Street, Coxsackie, NY, 12051 on Saturday December 2, 2023 from 12:00 Noon – 3:00 P.M.
